Welcome to Llangollen Hostel

Welcome to Llangollen Hostel. We offer clean and comfortable accommodation, modern facilities, and a warm welcome, whatever your budget.

We are located in the centre of Llangollen, a stone’s throw away from the river Dee, the Llangollen Canal with its horse drawn boat rides, the Llangollen steam railway and Castell Dinas Bran. The town has an abundance of independent shops, cafe’s, bistros, pubs and restaurants. It is home to the annual International Eisteddfod, which is a festival of music, dance, and arts. We are approximately an hours drive to Snowdonia, and half an hour to Chester.

We have a fully-fitted kitchen for your self-catered accommodation, with tea and coffee in each bedroom. You can enjoy your meals in the dining room, then relax in the lounge by the log burner. We have a book exchange, free wi-fi internet, games for adults and children, laundry facilities, a drying room, and bicycle and kayak storage.

The hostel is a great base for walkers, who wish to explore the magnificent Vale of Llangollen, the Berwyn mountains, the Clwydian range and for those walking the Offa’s Dyke footpath, also known as the National Trail.

For the more adventurous, there is some superb mountain biking in the area, and we’re only a 15 minute drive from the fantastic mountain biking centre at Llandegla forest.

The river Dee boasts some fantastic white water, and is a haven for kayakers and canoeists, or those looking to take the plunge and try white water rafting or tubing.

The Eglwyseg cliffs above the town offer some of the best limestone climbs in the area. Other activities include gorge walking, fishing, golf, trail riding and many more.

At Llangollen Hostel you’re assured of a happy and comfortable stay, freedom to come and go as you please, and above all, a warm welcome.
