Llangollen Railway is a mainly steam-hauled heritage railway line. It starts at Llangollen Station, beside the Dee River Bridge in the centre of town, just a short walk from Llangollen Hostel.

The railway continues for 7.5 miles upstream via Berwyn and Glyndyfrdwy, following the River Dee to the beautiful village of Carrog.

The railway remains close to the waters of the river for most of its length. It’s on the north bank at Llangollen Station, then the river is crossed on to the south bank via the Dee Bridge, approximately one mile upstream from Llangollen.
